Hey villagers, Bryn here. Just want to give a quick first post about The STEM Village Symposium 2020.
The symposium is a conference for LGBTQIAP+ people in STEM in Scotland to come together, show off what they’ve been working on and to network. Here at The STEM Village, we know that community is super important, and we want to help foster that!
So, on that note, we want to let you know some details about the upcoming symposium, now that some of the details are booked in and confirmed.
The conference will be a 1 day event on June 5th 2020, at the Bayes Centre, University of Edinburgh. The day will consist of a keynote talk (to be revealed in time!), a selection of 15 minute talks from early career researchers, a panel discussion and a poster session. To top the day off, we have organised a social/networking event in the evening, and again, all well be revealed soon.
We’re super excited to be able to host the event the way we want to, and we really want as many of you to be able to make it. To that end, we’ve secured some travel funds to help get you to Edinburgh. To help make the event accessible to everyone, registration will be free and the conference space is fully accessible. If you have any further concerns, please get in touch via email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Registration will be open very soon, and we will be sure to make a big stink about it. I hope y’all are having a lovely festive period, and you’ll hear from us again in the new year.
